As you know I am counting down until our road trip honeymoon of the deep south of the USA. As a challenge to myself, and to advance my sewing skills, I am attempting to have at least a basic wardrobe of handmade items.
I bought this pattern aaages ago and am only now getting around to trying it. It’s the colette Moneta dress pattern.
I had some cheap jersey lying around so I whipped up a toile and was pleased to see it fitted perfectly so got stuck straight in. I have to say I absolutely love this pattern. It is so quick and easy to cut, to sew and I’m really happy with how it came out.
As long as we have been together we have talked about doing a USA road trip for our honeymoon if we ever got married. So as soon as we were engaged, we knew there was no other consideration other than how and when.
It came round in a whirlwind of a year, but the 21st of November came, we said ‘I do’ and we are now married.
What an amazing fortnight we had.
It started with my vintage inspired hen party. We spent the day in Pin Ups getting a vintage make over.
As it was such a sunny lovely day today, after treating myself for a massage at the hotel and meeting our photographer we jumped in the car up to see my wee Granny in Tain, stopping off in Portmahomack on the way. Sandy spent his summer holidays here and today it just looked stunning
We just bought a new mini a few days ago so it was a good opportunity to stretch her legs
Getting married or even organising a wedding is just a sequence of diary appointments and to do lists..
